What precautions are being taken due to COVID-19?2021-10-26T02:46:40+00:00

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during these difficult times. Our clinic is taking the following precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff and patients:

  • Please wear your own mask which covers the nose, mouth and chin when you enter the clinic
  • Please arrive on time and not early for your appointment as we are limiting contact between patients. If you arrive early, you may need to wait either in your car or downstairs. We will call you when it is safe to enter the clinic.
  • For new patients, the intake and consent forms should be filled out online before your appointment
  • A COVID-19 screening survey will be emailed to you 3 hours before your appointment time. Please fill this out before you come into the clinic. If you are experiencing any signs and symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you do not come in for your appointment and to self-isolate and call local Public Health immediately.
  • Come alone to your appointment if possible. If someone must accompany you, we ask that they also wear a mask and answer no to all COVID-19 screening questions.

What is chiropody?2018-03-19T00:18:26+00:00

Chiropody is a branch of medical science that involves the assessment, management and prevention of diseases and disorders of the foot and lower limb. Foot injuries and deformities can limit mobility, and affect your health and quality of life.

Chiropodists are essential members of the interprofessional healthcare team. The role of chiropodists is to maintain and improve patient mobility, alleviate foot pain, and provide health education. Chiropodists are skilled in assessing their patient’s needs, and managing both acute and chronic conditions.

Chiropodists provide care to a wide range of patients, which include but is not limited to nail care, corn and callus removal, warts, wounds, surgeries, orthotics and compression socks.

What is the difference between a chiropodist and podiatrist?2018-03-19T00:06:52+00:00

Chiropodists and podiatrists are the only recognized and regulated foot specialists in Ontario. The main difference between the two is where they were trained and educated. Practitioners who are educated in the US or came to Ontario before 1993 are known as podiatrists, while those trained in Ontario or came to Ontario after 1993 are called chiropodists.
